MULAN: TANGHALANG PILIPINOS NEW CHILDRENS MUSICAL

MULAN, the newest original childrensmusical to hit the stage, is set toopen on September 14 as part ofTanghalang Pilipinos 21st season.Based on the famous Chinese poem TheBallad of Mulan, this stage versiontells of the exciting adventures of HuaMulan, the young woman who joined anall-male army to fight for the honor ofher family and her country.

A perfect treat for children and theyoung-at-heart, MULAN will delightaudiences of all ages with itswhimsical set and colorful costumescreated by New York-trained designerGino Gonzales; breathtaking martialarts movements fused with gracefuldances by premier dance artist DenisaReyes; the colorful play of lights bynoted lighting designer JonjonVillareal; and the delightful touch ofcharacter make-up by multi-awardeddesigner Dennis Tan.The libretto by Palanca award-winningplaywright Rody Vera together with JedCaballero Balsamos music and theskillful performance of the TanghalangPilipino Actors Company all combine tomake for an entertaining andheartwarming production under themasterful direction of Dennis Marasigan.
